Tips For Helping Your Baby Sleep During the Night

One of the hardest things for new parents to get used to is the fact that their new baby does not sleep through the night. This adjustment is exhausting for many people, and is frustrating. There are some things that you can do, once you realize why your baby is wide awake every two hours or three hours. One of the biggest reasons for this occurrence is the fact that your baby is hungry, and the milk your feeding him or her, is being digested very quickly. In turn, that milk goes through their system, completely, and baby is uncomfortable because they are wet or dirty.

Here is an age old trick that has worked for mother for many years. It is not advisable to feed your baby cereal, or baby food for some months, however, giving them just a little help fill their belly. It is a good idea to wait about a month or so before trying, but after they reach about four to six weeks in, place just a pinch of cereal either in their bottle, or in their mouth. That pinch of cereal will keep them feeling full and you will realize that instead of waking up every two or three hours, your baby is waking up every four or five.

You never want to exceed this tiny bit until a Doctor says it is alright for a couple of reasons. For one, over feeding your baby can help them gain weight too quickly. Experts say that many obese adults were over the recommended weight as infants and toddlers. While it is tempting to start feeding them solid meals at his point with cereal, it is best that you not do that. The second reason is that their tiny stomachs are not ready for food like this, and too much can make your new little one uncomfortable.
